During the Civil Society takeover of the #ItTakesACommunity campaign, we are promoting stories and projects run by civil society organizations and partners, which contribute to spreading diverse, positive narratives about migrants and migration. Engage with us on our social media and help us shape more inclusive communities!  

Join our flagship event on overcoming racism and discrimination! 

The central part of our takeover will be a dialogue between key actors engaged in promoting more inclusive communities. This interactive exchange of perspectives, aimed at discussing solutions and inspiring joint initiatives for more balanced narratives about migrants and migration, in particular against racism, will feature the participation of:

  • Ms. Bochra Manaï, Commissioner for the Fight Against Racism and Systemic Discrimination, City of Montreal, Canada.  
  • Ms. Nana Gyamfi, Executive Director, Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI), USA.  
  • Mr. Santiago Ruiz, Director of Inclusion of the Foreign Community in Ecuador and co-Chair of the GFMD Working Group on Narratives, Government of Ecuador.

Join our live closing for a conversation on inclusion in communities!  

To close our 2-week takeover and reflect on civil society’s contributions, two practitioners will join us to discuss what migrants bring to their own communities and how they work on a day-to-day basis to promote their inclusion and highlight their contributions so that all benefit from this diversity.
