It Takes A Community Campaign – Civil Society Takeover!

Civil Society is taking the lead of the It Takes A Community Campaign

Join us between Monday, 20 September and Friday, 1 October, to discuss the positive contributions of migrants and promote balanced narratives on migration for more inclusive and welcoming societies.

Keep an eye on our social media channels and save the dates of our events!

Watch and share our civil society initiatives for stronger communities!

Every day, we will be showcasing stories of migrants and civil society who work together to make their communities richer, more diverse and welcoming. We will also look at concrete ways for all interested to help promote more positive narratives and thus help shape stronger communities.

Help us amplify these voices by re-posting them on your own social media accounts accounts with the hashtag #ItTakesACommunity!

As a central part of its takeover, the GFMD Civil Society Mechanism will convene a dialogue between key actors engaged in promoting more inclusive communities.
The panel discussion will bring together governments, local authorities and civil society actors for an interactive exchange of perspectives aimed at discussing solutions and inspiring joint initiatives for more balanced narratives about migrants and migration, in particular against racism.

Join our live closing for a conversation on inclusion in communities!

To conclude the civil society takeover of the It Takes a Community Campaign, two practitioners will join us to discuss what migrants bring to their own communities and how they work on a day-to-day basis to promote their inclusion and highlight their contributions so that all benefit from this diversity.
