Please note: While the city of Quito is relatively safe during the day, moving by taxi or by bus is preferable. To avoid being a victim of robbery or pickpocketing, avoid carrying valuables or hailing taxis on the street. Instead, it is highly recommended to use a service affiliated with a hotel. It is not advised to walk on the streets at night. After sunset, we highly recommend taking a taxi or an Uber.
