The Africa Forum was a follow-up to the three-day event known as the Abuja Forum. 

The Africa Forum offered space for civil society, diaspora organisations as well as trade unions to share reflections and gather inputs from African non-state actors on the GFMD process, particularly on how to engage through government-led roundtables. It was also present an opportunity to exchange a diversity of inputs on GFMD priority areas on the impact of climate change on human mobility; rights and migration; diasporas; labour migration; perception of migrants, culture and discourse and multi-level governance. The Africa Forum is part of civil society preparations for the GFMD Summit in January 2024.
